We've got a Single Game Showdown tonight — ARI @ STL at Busch Stadium, first pitch 7:45PM EDT. We're stacking five Cardinals bats against Arizona's Mitch Bratt with Nolan Arenado as the Diamondbacks bring-back: Nelson Velázquez takes the 1.5x MVP, alongside Jordan Walker, Iván Herrera, JJ Wetherholt and Blaze Jordan.

Nelson Velázquez — MVP, $9,300

Velázquez takes the 1.5x as the leverage captain, and he mashes left-handed pitching — a 1.017 OPS with a .625 SLG and .333 ISO vs LHP. He draws Mitch Bratt, a young Arizona left-hander with a thin big-league track record stepping into a Cardinals lineup loaded with right-handed bats. Against an inexperienced arm the Cardinals are seeing fresh, Velázquez's ceiling at the multiplier is a league-winning swing at a value MVP price.

Jordan Walker — UTIL, $13,000

Walker is the power centerpiece of the Cardinals stack and a right-handed bat that punishes lefties — a .977 OPS with a .602 SLG, .287 ISO and 6 HR vs LHP. He gets the platoon advantage against Bratt, and a slugger this dangerous against a debuting left-hander is exactly the spot to pay up. He's the biggest bat outside the MVP slot.

Iván Herrera — UTIL, $10,800

Herrera is another right-handed masher in the Cardinals group — a .918 OPS with a .467 SLG, .194 ISO and 4 HR vs LHP. He's into the same Bratt matchup, where the Cardinals' right-handed-heavy lineup holds the platoon edge against a young lefty. A high-floor, high-ceiling piece in the heart of the stack.

Nolan Arenado — UTIL, $7,600

Arenado is the Diamondbacks bring-back and our piece from the other side. He draws Matthew Liberatore, who's been hittable at a 5.23 ERA, a 5.78 xERA, a 1.56 WHIP and a 1.87 HR/9, so even in a quieter season Arenado's veteran bat has a real path against a struggling lefty. He's the cheap leverage if Arizona answers in this one.

JJ Wetherholt — UTIL, $11,400

Wetherholt is the spend-up bat and the lone left-handed hitter in the Cardinals group — a .715 OPS with 2 HR vs LHP. Even in the same-handed look, he's into a debuting Bratt the whole lineup is seeing for the first time, in a game the Cardinals should control. A correlated piece with on-base upside in the stack.

Blaze Jordan — UTIL, $6,800

Jordan is the value bat that rounds out the Cardinals stack, a right-handed hitter with raw power into the same Bratt matchup. He gets the platoon edge against the young lefty, and at $6,800 he's the cheap piece that lets us pay up for Walker, Herrera and Wetherholt at the top. A correlated dart in the slate's first-look spot.

The lineup at a glance — Velázquez anchors at the 1.5x MVP as the leverage captain with the Cardinals stack of Walker, Herrera, Wetherholt and Blaze Jordan all attacking Mitch Bratt, a debuting left-hander against a right-handed-heavy lineup that holds the platoon edge. Walker is the power centerpiece, and Arenado is the Diamondbacks bring-back into a struggling Liberatore. We're betting on a deep Cardinals lineup getting a first look at an inexperienced arm.

Let's have a big night! 💰🔥
